Throughout all her successes and accomplishments, Renee Zawawi has also dealt with her share of tragedies. Renee Zawawi had been The Most Popular Girl in School. She was a child performer, and a hard working student. Renee Zawawi was recognized by the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor society, and she won Miss Pennsylvania scholarship program to go to college. While so Renee Zawawi minding her own life, creating her own art and music, she was unfortunately, robbed and injured after a dance rehearsal by her jealous peers who were dropped out of school and dropped twice by the major label. They were threatened by Renee's success and wholesome image. They went on ripping her off and started feuds that lasted for a decade!
It never occurred to those peers to credit Renee Zawawi for her original work and aspirations but Renee Zawawi is no longer a Hollywood well kept secrete. Renee Zawawi keeps things light & syrupy but in fact she has suffered a lifetime trauma after the incident. Those noisy peers went on ranting and smearing during Renee's hospital stay. Their behaviors are unforgivable and when Renee Zawawi was discharged from the hospital, she found her peace with cut-ting ties with them completely. It was for the best. Renee Zawawi truthful nature & settle quietness have earned her "The People Choice Award" twice! Renee Zawawi, recording of the classic "Smooth Operator" has taken her to an even higher level in the music industry where as 2 different producers at 2 different times and places - one was in New York and the other was in Los Angeles - when they over heard Renee Zawawi voice on the phone, they insisted that she would record the song and the result was an epic recording session! |
The EP includes, five original Hits: "American Girl", "One Time In Italy"," Mom", "Papa"& "Happy Hour". This EP is produced by Grammy Award Winner Tom Weir. It was written and recorded by singer - songwriter, Renee Zawawi as an original demo CD and the rest is history. "Once up on a tune, I wrote legends to share it with you. Songs from my heart and soul about my life trip in general and throughout traveling to various countries. Each song speaks of dances, cultures, and encounters." Renee Zawawi is a vocalist with stellar radio chart activity, strong numbers from Friday Morning Quarterback (FMQB), New Music Weekly (NMW), National Radio hits (NRH) to the Independent Music Network's Top30 where her songs hit #1 on several occasions and she earned several award nominations and wins.
"Smooth Operator" was written by lead singer Sade Adu and Ray Saint John, who was a member of Sade's previous band Pride. The song is about a fashionable man who lives a jet-set lifestyle. He's very popular with the ladies, and breaks a lot of hearts in his travels. With the lyrics, "Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale," it's implied that the women he uses also supply his wealth. It's also clear that he does not return the affections of these women, as Sade sings near the end, "His heart is cold." Smooth Operator rebirth version with Renee Zawawi Band: Tim Pierce (Guitar), Matt Laug (drums), Rafael Padilla (percussion), and Michael Parnell (keyboard), Steve Madeo (Trumpet) and Renee Zawawi (Vocals) isn't about a Fashionable man, but about women in the entertainment who have used Renee's work, music & personal lifestyle as well as image for themselves, but failed to credit her.
